Ernest von Simson is a Senior Partner of Ostriker von Simson, a consultancy which assists the largest worldwide enterprises in the selection and deployment of advanced technologies and leading edge software providers. He is also co-director of the CIO Strategy Exchange a joint venture with Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers which provides a forum for emerging start-ups, establishment computer vendors like HP, IBM, Oracle and Dell, venture capitalists and 50 top CIOs from Alcoa, Boeing, Colgate, Goldman, Fedex, Honeywell, JPMChase, Lockheed, NYLife, Pfizer, P&G, Wal-Mart etc. Recent reports have covered a wide range of topics including, collaborative technology and innovation in top computer firms. He is also teaching a seminar on entrepreneurship at Pace University.

Ernie is on the Boards of Directors of Arcsight, Levanta and Optaros having previously been a director of Adwired, Asera, Brio Software, Corio, Empact Solutions, Good Technology, Icarian, Marketing Info, SAP Markets, Square SMS (Netherlands) and Tourisline (Germany). He is also a Trustee of the New York Studio School, the New York Landmarks Conservancy and Landmarks West.

Mr. von Simson was previously the co-founder and senior partner of the Research Board, a private sector think tank sponsored by the top IT executives from the 100 largest global firms in North America and Europe, excluding the computer and communications sectors (omitted to preserve our objectivity). There, he led the research staff in assessing the practical economics of current and emerging information technologies. The firm was also expert on the business models and strategies of large and/or innovative companies

Before that, he was Director of Research at the Diebold Group, systems executive for a large insurance company and operations officer on a U.S. destroyer. He holds a BA from Brown University and a MBA from New York University. His articles have been published by Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Computerworld and other publications.
